Friends
Friends
Aren't friends special? Would you live if you didn't have any friends? I sure
wouldn't because my friends are special. They always make me laugh when I'm upset. I
mean what are friends for? Friends are there to support you and make you smile
when your upset, to make every minute of your life count. Friends cry when you cry. They also laugh when you laugh. But true friends are the ones that stick with you to the end. They encourage you when you feel maybe sad or angry and feel pressured. Some good friends are the ones that keep in touch with you throughout your life. Here are some of my funny and silly friends that make my day!

A Day at Mendez Fundamental
A Day at Mendez Fundamental
At Mendez Fundamental you can have lots and lots of fun! During lunch there are sometimes activities that you can participate in and if you win you get awesome cool prizes. For example, candy, Mendez pencils, coupons and lots more. Here you can make your own websites, Gaggle email, join sports, make the school yearbook with the best teacher Mrs. Storms, or you can make the end of the year video with the antics master, Mr. Cisneros, the best by the way. If you are wondering about the teachers, don't wonder any more. The teachers here are amazing, they are like a parent to you because they help, care, love, and enjoy you. At Mendez Fundamental you can make tons of new friends. Mendez is a great place to learn and have fun!

A study in Nature shows that egalitarianism begins to appear in most kids between ages 3 and 8. Scientists who studied 229 Swiss children found that at age 3, 9 percent were willing to share candy with another person. But by age 8, that number rose to 45 percent.
Painkillers, sleeping pills and anti-anxiety drugs are being prescribed to out-patients in high doses, without the oversight of a doctor. A new study found that in the last 20 years there has been a 500 percent increase in the death rate from medication errors made at home.
Last week we reported on a study that showed that self breast exams don't help prevent death from breast cancer in women. The interview generated quite a response from listeners. Several women wrote in to say that they had found cancerous lumps in their own breasts and wouldn't be alive today if not for breast self exams.
A new Web site called "Hospital Compare" evaluates hospital death rates around the country and shows how individual hospitals stack up against the national average. Guests discuss the reliability of the data on the site and describe the measures hospitals are taking to improve performance.
The recent arrest of a popular woman who happens to be an illegal immigrant has some North Carolina doctors concerned. The woman's immigration status apparently was turned over to authorities after she received medical care. Doctors worry that illegal immigrants will be afraid to seek care, which might lead to public health problems.

School is like our job that we got to every day. We go to school to learn and get ready for the upcoming years and hopefully graduate and go to college and have a job that you love. Well in the mean time it's hard not to make friends and goof around and enjoy our time to ourselves. It's almost hard to keep up with all the things going on at Mendez like all of our electives. To name a few Media, Yearbook, Leadership, Art, Band, and Mesa and those were just the electives. Here you can see what goes on during school and all the fun things that go on.
